There are a number of ways that you can be involved with the Independent Living Association (ILA), with both paid and voluntary opportunities.

What type of paid work is available?

Personal Assistants (PA)

One of our core services is to help people find their own support workers and carers. There is always an excellent variety of jobs ranging from administration, social activities to providing personal care and much more. These jobs are based throughout the West Sussex area.

What type of volunteer work is available?

Trustees

The ILA is always keen to encourage more disabled people, carers and people with an interest in independent living to get involved with the work that the ILA does, and from time to time, trustee roles are available.

DP Buddies

People who use our services sometimes tell us that they wish that they could chat about Direct Payments and Personal Budgets with somebody else who has experience of them. It can really help them to get ideas on how they can best use the support available to achieve their desired outcomes. It can also help just to be able to share problems, issues and opportunities to help find the right solution for you.

For further information on how to get involved, please click on the Volunteers button at the bottom of the page.

Office Placements

From time to time, we do have opportunities for people looking for work placement opportunities. For further information, please click on the ‘Volunteers’ button at the bottom of this page.

We understand the difficulties that can be faced when trying to enter the job market for the first time. For that reason, we are happy to work with both organisations and individuals to provide opportunities for work placements of differing lengths.

For further information about how to arrange a work placement, please click on the ‘Volunteers’ button at the bottom of the page.
