Freeing you from wages administration

The Independent Payroll Service (IPS) takes on all payroll-related tasks for people employing their own personal assistants under the self-directed support services such as Direct Payments, Indirect Payments and In Control.

The service provides everything you need to deal with your payroll. For example it will:

  • calculate all your PA wages every four weeks
  • send you the payroll information and printed payslips
  • incorporate new employees onto the system
  • deal with the financial administration involved when anyone leaves your employment
  • handle the annual payroll requirements (P60s and returns to the Revenue)

A flat charge of £28.64 (including VAT) covers all the above services for each four-week period during which you are registered with the IPS. The charge is normally met from the money you receive from social services.
