In most web browsers the navigation buttons on the left of every page can be accessed with the alt key (PCs) or ctrl key (Macs) and the underlined letter. Depending on the browser used, you may also need to press the Enter key afterwards.
Main links within pages are also given access key alternatives, and lists of links without individual access keys can be reached by scrolling with the Tab key.
No tables or graphics are used without underlying text alternatives for detection by screen readers.
We are considering other accessibility devices such as options for text size or colours, or having a built-in text-to-speech function.
However, we are aware that these may not be helpful because people tend to set up their web browsers to present web pages in ways that suit them best. They may prefer websites to be kept simple to avoid any risk of clashes with their own computer accessibility tools.
